16mo. 245 + (6) pages. Several engravings in full page and in the text, including a large folding plate. Title in red & black. Contemporary full calf binding with red morocco label, on hinge split on 5 cm. Marbled edges and enpapers.

One of the most famous grimoires ever printed. Like the "Grand Albert", this "Petit Albert" is spuriously attributed to Albertus Magnus but is probably a later creation.

However, unlike the "Grand Albert", the grimoire openly deals in ceremonial black magic, what is almost unique for a book printed before 1800. The text is illustrated by many explicit engravings and tables. Although there were several printings during the 18th Century , that kind of edition has become extremely hard to find and is avidly sought after.
